Costa Grimaldi Barolo 2001

They made 450 cases of this stuff. Spectator gave it a 91. I could care less about it; I just thought you guys might like to know that

The nose initially starts out with a gasoline note.
It’s got a little licorice too. Black AND red. I prefer the red stuff. I had a bad experience with Jagermeister (anisette, (black stuff) a few years ago, and still haven’t recovered..

2nd note on this wine hits you with a little strawberry shortcake. Yeast, spongy vanilla oak. It’s American, puncheon then barrrique. Tannins are pretty pronounced.
(Of course dumbass, it’s a 2001)

Mouth feel is a soft pull over fleece blanket, on the cottage porch.
The changing is now integrating with a locked basement black brighter fruit. Violets, berry, and dried cherry. Cranberry and cinnamon.

The tannins have finally shaken out a bit.
Kitchen wood grain floor. You just dropped some nutmeg ion the floor. Sweep it up.

This wine is a hot, classy woman, alcohol % about 13.5 the way it should be.
In the decanter the boobs grow. The 28 yr. old loves his 40-year-old girlfriend with the grey Mercedes. She’s great in bed. This wine is great in bed. Dripping now with dark plum and truffle.

She takes off the leather restraints, and checks his piercings.
Breathing slowly, as the wine did, she rewards him.

I gave it a 90.
